Craig Dunain Hill Race
Well done to Billy Skinner and his team of organisers and marshals for putting on a great event on Saturday. They even managed to get the sun to come out for the duration of the race which was just enough to blind out the glare from Gordie Lennox’s tights. A great race was had by all with many first time Hill racers vowing to return next year. There was a slightly amended route due to flood works but this failed to cause any disruption and if anything made for a faster race. Gordie Lennox won the race from club athlete Graham Bee with Paul Miller and Andrew Macrae close behind in 3rd and 4th. In the ladies race Karen Lyons of HHR triumphed in one of the closest fought races in recent memory. Karen used her experience to hold off the spirited challenge of Forres Harrier Kirstie Rogan and HHRs Rhona Grant who finished 2nd and 3rd, with only 2 seconds splitting the 2nd and 3rd positions. Sarah MacKenzie of Lochaber finished 4th with Megan Bee close behind in 5th. Great running ladies, particularly from Karen who has been running hill races since before her 4 closest rivals were born!
In the Prestige (IHAAC versus HHRs) Trophy, the Tattie munchers won, the end.
