Sylvia Main’s plan was to do the Liverpool Marathon When She’s 64, but circumstances led to her being a year out. However she did it With a Little Help From Her Friends, namely Ilona Warburton, who also completed the marathon, and Lee Ross, Elaine Barrie, Audrey Bell and Marion Nicolson, who did the half marathon. They followed the Long and Winding Road, and enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour of the city, though we cannot confirm if either course included Penny Lane or Strawberry Fields. And of course their efforts were followed by a Hard Day’s Night of celebrations. Well done, ladies.
