MENS ROAD RELAYS – Charlie Forbes

Well done the Senior Men at the National 6 Stage Road Relays at Livingstone today taking a very commendable 9th place in a very competitive field of International Runners. Steven Mackay started on the 1st 5k leg and took the team in 5th place handing over to John Newsom for the 10k leg who came in on 6th when Eoghan MacNamara took on the next 5k leg with a great run continuing to hold on to 6th before passing to Gordon Lennox who just held off Aberdeen AAC who had been closing in fast along with some other clubs. Next 5k was Chris Fife and although he has started back training put in a solid run to keep the top 10 team place target alive before passing to last leg runner on the 10k Craig Campbell who managed a great effort with some top runners breathing down his neck to take the Harriers home in 9th place overall. A great effort all round. Andrew Johnstone was the only B Team member and had a fine run as the only under 20 member of the squad. Well done all. Also well done Inverness based runners Gemma Cormack Aberdeen and Stan MacKenzie Cambuslang both medalling for their teams. Former Inverness Harrier runner DJ MacAuley was also a medallist for the winning team Cambuslang.
