Weekend round up
WEEKEND ROUNDUP
There has been another Season’s best for Kirsty Law who threw 54.27 at a UKWAL meeting today. This follows 53.28 in Portugal in April and 53.92 at Loughborough two weeks ago.
As already reported, Stephen MacKenzie won Scottish Schools pentathlon bronze on Saturday with efforts including a 6.74 LJ, which I am taking to be a club U17 record, and 22.96 in the 200. Rachel Johnstone was a very close 5th in the U15 girls’ contest where she had a 12.46 75H and a 4.87 LJ.
At today’s RAM League (that’s the Petrofac, or Halliburton or Grampian depending on how far you go back) Rachel then breached the 5 metre mark for the first time with 5.09. RAM results tend to be a little delayed so I don’t have all that much. However we do have to congratulate Eleanor Briggs (25.68), Gillian Gordon and Heather Bruce for a 1-2-3 in the women’s 200 which I think was also the case with Rachel, Eve Gardiner and Mairi Darroch in the U15 LJ.
The 1-2s included Ali Beaton and Ross Fraser in the 200 and Tony Golabek and Finlay MacLennan in the 3000.
And I am leaving the top performance at the RAM League to the very end since we have a new league record holder in Rachel MacLennan who threw 43.57 in the U17 hammer!
